Billy Brown Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Buchanan Funeral Service on Nov. 30, 2023.
Bill, aged 89, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on November 27, 2023 surrounded by family and friends for his last hours here on Earth. He loved the Lord with all his heart.
He was born to William and Anna Faye Brown on July 17th, 1934, near Purcell, Oklahoma, in a white house at the top of the hill, of some kind strangers, who opened their home to these two travelers headed home to OKC from visiting Relatives.
Bill Jr. owned and operated Browns Bakery. He worked as a Baker, Cake Decorator, and Business manager. He served in the Army and was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska in 1956
He married the love of his life Carolyn "Katie" May 17th, 1957, in Alaska. They started a family in 1958 and had 5 children in 6 years! Bill and Katie had beautiful voices and sang for weddings, funerals, and harmonized well together. Sometimes they would just break out in song together looking at each other and smiling joyfully.
He served Northwest Church of Christ as a deacon and in '76 became an Elder until last week when he decided his health would not let him continue serving the congregation here.
He loved Bowling, fishing, and traveling, was an avid fan of OU football and Thunder Basketball and just about every sport out there.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Anna Faye, Brother Robert, Sister Carolyn, Wife Katie, Son Michael, Daughter Sandy, and Son Randy.
He is survived by Sister-in-law Ruth Brown, Daughter Brenda & Husband Vasco Martindale, Son William and wife Lindi Brown, daughter in law Linda Brown, Son in law Steve Mack, & daughter in law Joyce Brown. He is also survived by his Grandchildren Ryan, Anna, Katie, Julieanne, William, Laura, Will, Chase, Tanner, Brooks and Katelyn and their spouses along with 15 great grandchildren and maybe more in the future.
Visitation will be Friday, December 1st, 1-8 pm with Family receiving visitors from 5-8 at Buchanan Funeral Service, 8712 N Council Rd. Oklahoma City, OK 73132.
Memorial services to celebrate his life will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 2nd at Northwest Church of Christ, 4301 NW 23rd St. Oklahoma City, OK 73107.
