Marguerite Morris Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Buchanan Funeral Service on Nov. 29, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Marguerite Morris, age 87, was born on November 5, 1938 in Marietta, Ohio. She

went to be with the Lord on November 25, 2025 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She

grew up in Marietta before marrying David Albert Morris. After marrying, they

moved to Lawrence, Kansas for Dave to complete his Doctorate in Geology. After

his graduating, they moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma where they adopted two

children (David and Julia).

Marguerite had two careers throughout her life. Her first career was working at

KU as an accountant while Dave completed his education. Her second career was

being a homemaker and raising the children. She is preceded in death by David

Albert Morris, Joseph Huck (father), and Margaret Neader Huck-Hanes (mother).

She is survived by David Owen Morris, Julia Kathleen Buzbee, her granddaughters

Amber Lynn Moffett and Hannah Morris-Voth, and her sister Madeline Strickler.

Marguerites passions included bowling while living in Bartlesville Oklahoma on a

bowling league at The Red Apple. She won several trophies while on this league.

She loved cross-stitching, crocheting, and knitting. One of her true loves was to

help make quilts for the children in need with quilting groups made up of

extremely talented women. Not only did she love making the quilts, but she loved

the conversations and companionship with the other quilters as they too were

her family.

Marguerite walked in her faith being very loving and caring to everyone she met.

She was an avid fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder, KU Jayhawks, Ohio State

Football, Oklahoma State University Football, and the Dallas Cowboys. She loved

to garden and tended to the flowers daily. She loved Roses, Holy Grail Hibiscus,

and Irises the most. She is forever in our hearts and may she rest in peace.
