Mr. & Mrs. Carnes
It is with deep sorrow and much love, that we mourn the passing of 2 wonderful souls. Lieutenant Dan "Danny" Carnes and his wife, Carol Lynn Carnes, both of Moore, Oklahoma.
Danny Albert Carnes was born in
Alex, Oklahoma to J.B. and Lola Carnes on 11/28/1939 and passed on 1/4/2025. Danny loved being retired, mowing his yard and telling his friends about his military days. He loved playing games and watching movies with his wife Carol. Danny was Lieutenant with the Oklahoma Military Department of Police and a PVT in the Army, where he earned merits for being a First Class Missileman and received a qualification badge with component bar missile and was a "Carbine" marksman. Danny left the Army in the 1960's with an honorable discharge and we thank him for his service and selflessness to help others.
In the 1980's Danny met Carol Pride in Colorado and the two were married on May 22, 1980 in Longmont, Colorado.
Carol Lynn (Pride) Carnes was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Richard and Clara Pride on 8/1/1950 and passed on 3/14/2026. Mr. and Mrs. Carnes resided in Moore, Oklahoma since 1986, where Carol was a loving wife, homemaker and a great neighbor. Danny and Carol didn't have any children of their own, but Carol was a loving step-parent, grandparent, and great grandparent to Danny's kids and grandkids. Although Danny and Carol and were estranged for many years form Danny's family, he spoke often of wanting to see them.
Sadly, Carol has outlived her family, but claimed her special friends as her family. She loved sour cream and onion potato chips and magnum ice cream bars, which she would send John and Jennifer Diggs to Walmart for her almost every week for them. She loved her cat companions "Lady" and "Fat Boy" and would often feed the stray cats in the neighborhood, which earned her the title of "Cat Lady". She loved going to bingo, shopping on Amazon, and Temu, and would often spend many late nights up doing arts and crafts, making artsy homemade get well and birthday cards for people and writing beautiful love letters to Danny. She enjoyed sitting on her porch and visiting with her special friends, Troy and Jacob Shatswell, Dale Frie, John and Jennifer Diggs, and Terry and Alicia Hertlien. Carol will miss talking to her longtime, long distance friend Rochelle Paris of New York.
Carol would like to give a special thanks to John Diggs for always being there to help and support her after Danny passed and with that, I fondly leave you with a verse from 6:24-24:
"The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; The Lord turns his face toward you and give you peace."
Farewell my loving friends and family, until we meet again!
Carol & Danny Carnes.
***At Carol's request, no service will be held. She and Danny will rest together at Fort Sill National Cemetery in
Elgin, Oklahoma.
