Billy Joe Burleson

Billy Joe Burleson, 83, of Spruce Pine, NC passed away peacefully on the evening of March 10, 2026 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. A native of Mitchell County, he was born on January 5, 1943 to the late Texie Queen Burleson.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Calvin, Jim, Frank, and Richard Burleson; as well as his sisters, Cynthia Spratt and Hortense Burleson Biddix. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 63 years, Linda Short Burleson of the home; his daughter, Lynn Honeycutt and granddaughter Courtney Honeycutt, daughter Michelle Harris and grandson Ryan Harris, as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews.

He was a retired employee of Baxter Healthcare Corporation. He looked forward to taking yearly trips with his family and treasured the time spent together. He enjoyed playing golf, spending time outdoors working in his garden, camping, and had a lifelong appreciation for cars. Above all, he cherished time with his family. His greatest joy in life was his beloved wife, Linda, whom he loved deeply.

Funeral services for Bill will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026 at 2:00 in the chapel of Webb Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery. Condolences may be shared by visiting www.webbfh.com
