Billy Dewayne Calahan was born on November 11, 1963, in Camden, Arkansas, to Billy Ray Calahan and Iserine Seals. Billy was a beloved son, brother, uncle , cousin and friend who touched the lives of many during his time here on Earth. He transitioned from this life on March 17, 2025, at the age of 61 at his home in El Dorado, Arkansas.
He was widely known as and referenced by the name “Callie”. He was a 1982 graduate of Fairview High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, carrying with him a deep sense of duty and responsibility.
Billy was a dedicated pump operator at Clean Harbors, where he served with distinction as a union steward and was an active member of the Rescue and Fire Brigade Team. He gave 34 years of service to Clean Harbors until his health declined.
He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed fishing, gathering with family and friends, barbecuing, frying fish and having a good time and listening to the good ole blues. He will always be remembered for his favorite quote, “I’m Good”. Callie’s love for family was unparalleled.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Billy Ray Calahan. His step mother Emma Calahan. His step father Willam McHenry. His grandparents Ira and Narvell Seals and Albert and Mae Francis Calahan. His aunts Bernice Calahan-Clary and Juanita Calahan. His uncles Ira B Seals, James Witcher and James Calahan. His step brother Kent Stevens and his step sister Barbara Barrett.
He is survived by his mother, Iserine McHenry of Camden, AR. His sisters Anita (Lee) Calahan-Elliott and Patricia (Brandon) Calahan-Byrd, both of Camden, AR. An extended family of step sisters and brothers including Vanessa McHenry (Camden, AR), Sandy McHenry (Camden, AR), Sandra McHenry (Eldorado, AR), Kathy Lowe (Houston, TX) , Greg McHenry (Camden, AR) Rickey McHenry (Eldorado, AR), Randy McHenry (Eldorado, AR) and Curtis Stevens (Little Rock, AR). He also leaves his aunts Erva Jackson (Camden, AR) and Marjorie Duson (Dallas, TX). His uncles Rev. Edward Seals (Rockford, IL), Ervin Seals (Dallas, TX), Rev. Horace Calahan (Austin, TX), Terry Calahan (Sharon) of Camden, AR and Harlen Calahan (Renee) of Colorado Springs, CO. His nieces Ebone’ Elliott (Maumelle, AR) and Brittne’ Green (Camden, AR). His nephews Darre’ll Atkins (Nikki) of Camden, AR. Courtney Green (Farmers Branch, TX) and Ja’Marvin Elliott (Little Rock, AR). His great-nephews Juney Atkins (Camden,AR) and Carter Green (Richardson, TX). His bonus daughter, Ceola Morgan (Little Rock, AR). A host of step nieces & nephews, cousins and friends. His best friend Eric Stanley and several other close friends and his Clean Harbors Co-workers.
