Billy Comeaux Sr.

New Iberia, LA - A Home-going Celebration for Mr. Billy Comeaux, Sr., 77, will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Fletcher Funeral Home with Rev. Claude Comeaux, Jr., Pastor of New Saint John Baptist Church, Port Arthur, TX, officiating.
He will await the resurrection at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church Cemetery (206 W. Church Street) in Delcambre, LA.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Fletcher Funeral Home beginning at 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.
He was resident of Delcambre, LA who transitioned at 9:39 P.M. on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, LA.
Billy was a 1965 graduate of Herod High School in Abbeville, LA. After completing high school, he attended and graduated from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. He became employed as a truck-driver as well as working in the Oilfield.
He is survived by two sons: William Christopher Comeaux Ballard of Spring, TX and Billy Comeaux, Jr. of Abbeville, LA; three daughters: Tenisha Michelle Comeaux Rubbins of Canal Winchester, OH, Cicely Comeaux of Abbeville, LA and Bianca Comeaux of New Orleans, LA; stepdaughter/caregiver: Charmaine Griffin of Abbeville, LA; his companion: Stacey Stephenson Land of Houston, TX; two sisters: Sally Comeaux Johnson (Roy) of New Iberia, LA and Lola Comeaux of Broussard, LA; twenty-one grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two godchildren: Andre and Shayree; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Lucille Griffin Comeaux; stepson: Brian Griffin; former wife: Melba "Diane" Comeaux; his parents: Dalton and Myrtle Minnick Comeaux; maternal grandparents: John Minnick, Sr. and Amy Minnick; paternal grandparents: Oliver and Suzanne Malveaux Comeaux.
