Mr. Billy Gray Evans, Sr., 86, passed away Monday May 5, 2025. He was born on September 22, 1938, in Yadkin County to the late Richard and Hazel Evans. Billy loved playing and watching sports of all kinds. He served in the United States Army for 2 years where he played on a football team while stationed in Germany. He then went on to work at RJ Reynolds as a maintenance supervisor for 35 years. He also enjoyed hunting, golfing, and woodworking. Billy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lucy Childs Evans, one son, Billy Gray Evans, Jr.; two daughters, Terri Snow (Max), and Debbie Whitaker; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted 1:00pm Saturday June 7, 2025, at Bethany Baptist Church with Pastor Brad Stamey and Pastor Brian Alverson officiating.
