Billy L. Green, Jr.

It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that Billy Green has passed away at the age of 68. Billy is being mourned by his beloved wife Lynne, his daughters Lindsey, Kim her husband Jared, May, Emilee her husband Connor, Kiersten, Hannah and Claire, as well as his mother Versie and his sisters, Karen her husband Matt, Cindy, Sandy her husband Rod, Kathy and her husband Vince, as well as all of the various communities Billy served in his full and incredible life.

Billy spent his life in service at first to his country by serving in the United States Navy for 23 years where he retired as a Warrant Officer. He then spent the next several years bouncing between several jobs usually using his experience in the Navy to Manage the Maintenance for several large companies. Billy even spent some time stocking bananas at a local Walmart to help provide for his beautiful family. After his eventual retirement Billy decided that the quiet life was not for him and began taking on more responsibilities at his home church Liberty Babtist in Flowood by leading their Sunday school class. He then took the opportunity to join with his local VFW chapter which in no small part due to his work ethic and sense of duty led to him being elected commander for his chapter. If that wasn’t enough Billy spent his free time substitute teaching at the local schools doing what he loved, working with kids and making a difference in their lives.

Billy was not a perfect man but every day he did his best and if there is anything we can all take from his life it’s that. Give every day all you have and let God take the rest.

Services will be held at Liberty Babtist Church on January 10th at 11 am

In lieu of flowers, Billy would appreciate donations be sent to either Liberty Baptist Church or his VFW post 12172.
