Sammy was born on September 16, 1966, to Sammy Joe Green, Sr., and Dorothy Nell Tyler Green in Shreveport, Louisiana, and passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Sammy lived a life full of heart. He graduated from high school and went on to take some college courses, but most of his lessons came from the people around him. He worked as a security guard, always dependable and present, with a calm way about him that made folks feel at ease.

His real passion, though, was the people. Friends who became family. Kids he watched grow up like they were his own. Sammy had a way of making you feel seen, like you mattered. He loved his Ford trucks, cheered for the Dallas Cowboys, and carried one of the kindest hearts you could ever hope to meet.

He didn’t need much to be happy, just good company, a game on TV, and the sound of laughter nearby. Sammy gave love freely, and that love lives on in the stories we’ll keep telling, the memories we’ll hold close, and the lives he touched along the way.

Sammy was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents. Left to cherish his memory are his cousins, many beloved friends, and their children.

Honoring Sammy as pallbearers will be Steven Bailey, Timothy Flowers, Travis Haynes, Steven Engle, and Joshua Flowers.
