John Thomas Green, Jr. of Inman, South Carolina went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on December 31, 2025, at the age of 79.
Tom was born on September 4, 1946, in Belton, South Carolina. He was the son of the late John Thomas Green, Sr. and Geneva M. Green. He was a graduate of Spartanburg Methodist College and Limestone College. He was District Director of the Food Safety Program at the Department of Health & Environmental Control and retired in 2013 after over 40 years of service with the agency.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janie Green; his daughter, Emily Flynn; son-in-law, Adam Flynn; and his beloved grandchildren Thomas James Flynn and Catherine Flynn. He loved steam locomotives, Clemson football, and playing with his grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Seawright Funeral Home on January 7, 2026, at 10 a.m. with a celebration of life service to follow at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. Mitch Crow, burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mobile Meals of Spartanburg.
