Billy Joe Haigood, 88, of Robinson, TX, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 20, at Robinson Cemetery, 620 E. Stegall, Robinson, with Pastor Robert Nelson officiating.
Billy was born September 1, 1934, in Robinson, TX, to Cecil and Eva (Markum) Haigood. He served his country in the Army Reserves. Billy was a true cowboy. He loved rodeos, horse shows and horse racing. He was quick-witted and full of jokes. He loved playing 42 with his family and his standing bid was 35. Billy enjoyed talking to people, never met a stranger, and would help anyone in need. He loved his family. He never missed any of his grandkid's events. The pride of his life was his first grandson, Tannon. He married Brenda Jo Anderson in 1965. She preceded him in death in 2018.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 53 years, Brenda Haigood; brothers, Raymond Haigood, Donald Haigood, Gene Haigood, and Kenneth Haigood; and his sister, Janice Wyatt.
He is survived by his son, Billy Wayne Haigood; sister, Sue Oliver, and husband Gary; brother, Larry Haigood; grandchildren, Tannon Haigood, Harley Koerth and Hunter Koerth; daughter-in-law, Lark Haigood; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

I worked with billy joe back in the 80's for highway dept. We worked hard and had fun cleaning out creeks and waterways for state of texas

So sorry to hear about Billy Joe. My husband played ball with most of the Haigood boys. We lived up the street from Gene & Joyce. My husband's name was Roy Collier.
