Billy Harrison

Billy Harrison, 91, a cherished husband and devoted companion to Betty for 68 remarkable years, a loving father to Randy (Denise) and Mike (Susie), a doting grandfather to Scott (Shelly), Michael (Emily), Jacob (Christina), and Dalton, a proud great-grandfather to Cole, Martin, and John, a kind brother-in-law to Sherry Bobo, and a long-time family friend to James "Bo" (Karen) Baker, left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. Born on October 26, 1931, in La Center, KY, he departed this world peacefully on October 23, 2023, in Louisville, KY, now resting in God's embrace.
Billy was preceded in death by his father, William Harrison, his mother, Evelyn Shemwell Harrison, his sister Ann, and nieces Theresa and Karen.
Billy was a man who never met a stranger, exuding a caring and outgoing personality. He was known for being a teller of tall tales and always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His presence meant something truly special to a wide circle of people. Billy was very proud of his family and their accomplishments.
Billy served his country as a Marine, was a dedicated Mason, and a proud member of the Shriner organization. He raised his family in Louisville, KY, and in his varied career, retired from L&N railroad, where he was Secretary of the union for fifteen years. He was a successful automobile dealer owning numerous car lots. In his twilight years he worked as an investigator for two different law firms, still trying to serve people of need.
His loss is deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. We will miss his infectious chuckle, his captivating stories, and the twinkle in his eyes that lit up our lives. He will forever be remembered as a friend to all, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.

Billy's visitation will be held from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Sunday, October 29th, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. His service will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 30th, at Highlands, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
