Billy Wayne Hudson

Billy Wayne Hudson, 74, of Jackson died December 9, 2023 with several members of his doting family by his side. Billy was born February 4, 1949 to Willard Windham and Bertha Motes Hudson. He was a lifelong resident of Clarke County where he enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He retired from Clarke Washington Electric Membership Coop where he had worked for many years and made numerous dear friends. Billy could be found at the Jackson Links Golf Course daily and he enjoyed his bi-weekly rounds of golf with his friends. Most of all Billy enjoyed spending time with his family; whether cooking out and socializing around the grill or sitting around watching a ball game or one of his favorite westerns Billy was content and happy when surrounded by his loved ones.

Billy is survived by his children, Nicole H. Etheredge (Rich), Jeremy W. Hudson (Ashley), Christy H. Deck; grandchildren, MaKenzie Etheredge, Mallory Etheredge, Madalyn Hudson, Davin Smith, Isaac Smith, Abigail Deck; great grandchildren, Kathryn Etheredge, Wyatt Smith, Tatum Smith; siblings, Harold Hudson, Willodean Foster and Bertha Carpenter as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ray Hudson and Jimmy Hudson.

Services will be held Monday, December 11, 2023 at River Hill Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral service begins at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Ed Howard, officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Davin Smith, Isaac Smith, Tim Carpenter, Cliff McClinton, Cody Hamilton and Ryan Thornton.

Honorary pallbearers will be all of Billy's golfing buddies at Jackson Links Golf Course, his former coworkers at CWEMC and Mindy MeGahee.
