Billy Johns Obituary
Mr. Billy Gordon Johns, age 84, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Saturday, September 21st, 2024 at 4:00 AM at the Hospice House of Bowling Green, KY.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 23rd, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral services will be held the same day, Monday, September 23rd at 3:00 PM at the funeral home with burial to follow in Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson County, KY.
Billy was born January 12, 1940 in Franklin, KY to the late Urbin Massey Johns, Sr. and the late Mary Louise (Moody) Johns. He was the husband of the late Thelma Jean Johns.
He is survived by 3 children, Mary Lou Potter of Brentwood, TN, Willie Johns (Judy) of Franklin, KY and Kim Roberts (Bart) of Franklin, KY; 5 grandchildren, Jessica Clayton, Billie Jean Johns, Zoie Roberts, Ross Potter and Ty Barnett, 3 great-grandchildren, Maci Clayton, Madi Clayton and Grayson White; and a brother, Urbin Massey Johns, Jr. of Cadiz, KY.
Billy was a member of the Blackjack Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening and farming.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Friends of the Shelter, PO Box 910, Franklin, KY, 42135 or to the Hospice of Southern KY, 5872 Scottsville Rd., Bowling Green, KY 42104. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
