Elkhart - Billy Ray Joiner, 67, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022.
Billy was born June 17, 1954 in Elgin, Illinois to Jerry & Frances "Louise" (Morgan) Joiner. He is preceded in death by his father Jerry Joiner.
Left to cherish the memory of Billy is his loving wife of 20 years, Kelly L. (Eshman) Joiner; children, Jennifer L. (Michael Beebe) Sloat, Amber D. (Coot) Wilson, Stephanie L. (Jesse) Tillman, Michael D. (Shannon) Joiner; step-children, Jessica E Frazier, Heather M. (Cody) Bigalke; grandchildren, Charles & Sabrina Sloat, Spencer & Gracie Harwell, Kerstien, Jocelin, & Adeline DeClue, and Norah & Emma Joiner, KayLynn Bigalke, Hunter, Ella, & Owen Wilson, Jesseka, Tucker, & Maryah Tillman; great-grandchildren, Bradley & Niklaus Sloat; brother, Dale W. (Lorri) Joiner; sisters, Linda K. (Tom) Constantino, Debra S. Dillon; father/mother- in-law, Joseph P. & Melanie Eshman; sister-in-law, Tammy J. McCormick; brother-in-law, Kevin J. Eshman, and several nieces and nephews.
Billy was a member of the American Legion Riders, the Indiana Patriot Guard Riders and Legion Honor Guard. He worked as a Tool & Die maker for many years. Billy bowled on the Kings & Queens Bowling League. He played the guitar and sang country and rock & roll, enjoyed traveling, bowling, remodeling his house, motorcycles, and camping. He dedicated his free time to helping Veterans and the community. Family was the first and foremost priority to Billy. They brought him the most happiness and joy in life. Billy's family could always count on cookies and milk when they visited.
Visitation for Billy will be 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, Sunday, May 15, 2022 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Funeral Service that will begin at 3:00 pm Sunday, May 15, 2022.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's & Dementia Services 922 E. Colfax, South Bend, IN 46617 or American Legion Riders, Post 357, 5414 Sample St., South Bend, IN 46619.

When I was younger, Uncle Bill wore an eye-patch. As the curious and goofy little girl I was, I asked for an eye-patch to look like my uncle. My uncle gave both me and my little sister an eye-patch and we sat on his lap and had a picture taken of us. I still have the picture with me at home and when I look at it, it reminds me of that fun memory we shared. :)
