Mark William Saberniak, 68, years old, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Mark was born on July 22, 1957 in South Bend, to the late Mitchell and Sylvia (Roundy) Saberniak.

Left to share the memories of Mark is his loving wife Becky of 32 years, they were married at St. John the Baptist Church; his children, Christopher (Andrea) D. Tobin, Nicholas (Angie) M. Tobin, Samantha (Adam) M. Pickens; grandchildren, Oliver C. Tobin, Luke W. Pickens; and brother, Michael (Bernice) Saberniak.

Mark is preceded in death by his mother Sylvia Saberniak and father Mitchell Saberniak.

Mark and Becky met through a dating service, he knew Becky had 2 teenagers and when they had their first date, he mentioned that he had a 9-month-old and when showed her a picture of adorable chocolate lab puppy, Max, and that is when he had her.

Mark worked for Honeywell for 34 years where he designed fuel controls systems for air crafts. He belonged to the NRA, St. Joe Valley Rifle and Pistol league, he was also a competition pistol shooter. Mark volunteered with the Scouting America. He helped on a klondike trip when he had only been dating Becky for a couple weeks and loved every minute of it.

Mark was very family oriented and was always there when any of his family needed him. He was a two-time cancer survivor and survived going from a bachelor to taking on two teenagers. Shortly into retirement Mark got restless and got a part time job at Menards.

He loved old westerns and Military movies and would never be seen without cowboy or combat boots. Mark love animals and went on to have 4 Labs.

Visitation for Mark will be Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., South Bend. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 11:30 am in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Riley Children's Hospital in honor of Mark William Saberniak.
