Billy Jones

Billy Wayne Jones,61 of Fairfield, Texas, passed away on May 24, 2024.
Billy was born on April 2, 1963, in Marshall, Texas to Arlis and Bobbie Jones Simmons. He was married to Kathy Jones in December of 1991, right in the middle of deer season, and was married for over 30 plus years.
Billy Jones is also survived by loving wife Kathy G. Jones, his mother Bobbie Jones Simmons of Athens, son Arlis Dewaye Jones and wife Rachal of Harleton, TX, son Alan Harcrow and wife Angel of Teague, TX, and son Justin Harcrow of Fairfield, his brother Arlis (Andy) Jones and wife Susan of Athens, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by Father Arlis Sigar Jones, brother Joe Lee Jones and his brother-in-law Benjamin Leon Miller, his two best friends Hamilton (Wayne) West and John (JJ) Jordan.
Billy grew up in the heart of East Texas. Billy had a love of hunting, fishing, mechanicing, anything he could do outside. Billy attended college at Kilgore College. He worked at Westmoreland for 17 years.
In 1999, he went into the rentals business and locally owned and operated Red Hat Rentals for over 20 years in Fairfield, Athens, and Palestine with his sister-in-law Susan and brother Andy. In his free time, Billy enjoyed spending most of his time working on his land or with his family.
A memorial service for Billy Wayne Jones will be held on June 29th 2pm at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Fairfield, officiated by Bubba Rutherford. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Freestone Cancer PO BOX 522 Fairfield, TX 75840 or plant a tree in his memory.
Billy will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
