Billy Franklin Kernes was born on January 18, 1937, and fell asleep in Jesus on October 5, 2023, at the age of 86.
He was preceded in death by his parents, WD and Mabel Kernes; brothers, Earl, James, and Floyd Kernes; and his sister Josephine Logston.
He is survived by Alice, his wife of 57 years; her daughters, Juanita Holder and Debby Fisher (Kenny Fisher); eight grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, David Kernes (Mary Lou) of Quitman, Texas; one sister, Oda Mae Strebeck of Texarkana, Arkansas; sisters-in-law, Mary Kernes of Quitman, Texas, and Bonnie Kernes of Lepanto, Arkansas, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He worked in the Heating and A/C business in east Texas for over 40 years.
Services will be held at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations, Quitman, TX, on Thursday, October 12, 2023. There will be a public viewing at 3:00 pm with services to follow at 4:00 pm.
