Mr. Billy E. McKinney, Jr., 55, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on Friday August 13, 2010 at his home. He was born August 23, 1954 in LaPorte, Indiana, the son of Billy E. McKinney, Sr. and Emma (Floyd) McKinney. Billy was a self-employed auto-mechanic and a Veteran of the US Army. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Billy enjoyed working on cars, and going to the casinos. On May 27, 2009, in LaPorte, IN, he married Lina Galofre McKinney who survives. He is also survived by his 2 sons - Billy E. McKinney III of Tupelo, MS, Jason P. McKinney, Sr. of Westville, IN; and one grandchild - Jeremiah P. McKinney; two brothers, Ronnie McKinney of LaPorte, IN., James McKinney of LaPorte, IN; two sisters, Patricia Wolfenbarger of LaPorte, IN and Shirley Kraus of LaPorte, IN. Billy was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild, Jason McKinney, Jr. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Thursday, August 19, 2010 from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Thursday August 19, 2010 at 7:00 PM with Pastor Jack M. Cox officiating. Burial of ashes will be held at the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family of Billy E. McKinney, Jr.
