Bill C. Mullins, 83, of Victoria, Va joined his family in Heaven on March 14, 2026. He was the son of the late Gussie Mullins and Thelma Rose Mullins. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jacque Buchanan Mullins; his son, Joe Mullins (Kathy); his daughter, Cameron M. Pratt (Donnie); three grandchildren, Marlow, Billy and Chloe; one great-granddaughter, Ruby; two brothers, Kenneth Mullins and Gregory Mullins (Kathy); his sister, Julia Ann Powers (Danny); extended family and friends.
Bill grew up in Clintwood, Va and graduated from Clintwood High School. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He returned home and used the GI Bill to earn his bachelor’s degree from Clinch Valley and his Master’s degree from Longwood College.
He was dedicated to helping the youth. He was a former teacher, Principal and Truant officer for the Lunenburg County Public School System. He was a former Scout Leader, a devoted member of the Victoria Methodist Church and a former councilman for the Town of Victoria. He enjoyed photography and camping. He will always be remembered for his love of trains and for his devotion to his country. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the caring and supportive staff at Amedisys Home Health.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 18, 2026 from 6:30 to 8PM at the Staples Funeral Home in Victoria. Funeral services with military honors will be held 1PM Thursday, March 19, 2026 in the Chapel at the Amelia Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial donations to the Lunenburg Health Services, P.O. Box 121, Victoria, Va. 23974.
