Ann Kleese Obituary

Ann Marie Kleese, 81, of Strasburg, VA, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in Strasburg, VA.

Ann was born in the Fort Bragg Military Hospital, NC on April 6, 1944, a daughter of the late Laverne Fred "Jack" and Carmen Ercell Barrow Kleese. Ann was an avid reader in her spare time. She was baptized and a lifelong member of Strasburg Presbyterian Church. She worked as a French elementary education teacher in her younger years and worked as a guidance counselor at Cedar Lee Middle School in Fauquier County, VA. She was a 1962 graduate of Strasburg High School and attended Longwood College where she earned her master's degree.

Survivors include her siblings Richard B. Kleese (Annie) of Strasburg, VA, Jane K. Ledford of Clearbrook, VA; her nephew Mark Ledford of Portland, OR; her cousins Larry Allamong of Strasburg, VA and Donald Golliday of Richmond, VA.

A graveside service for Ann will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Panorama Memorial Gardens with Rev. David Howard officiating.

Memorials may be made to Elizabeth Kleese Memorial Scholarship Fund, 600 Sandy Hook Road, Strasburg, VA 22657.
