Billy Dean Prince

Billy Dean Prince born May 21, 1947, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 27, 2025, at the age of 78. He is preceded in death by his parents Buster and Mattie Bobo Prince, and two sisters Mary Frances Barnett and Lola Mae Sides.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Sharon Pugh Prince, the light of his life, son Garrett Prince of Ethridge and bonus son Matthew Shepherd (Victoria) of Summertown, one grandson Preston Shepherd. Also surviving are his two brothers, Roy Prince of Hernando, MS and Ray Prince (Jennifer) of Lawrenceburg, TN and many nieces, nephews, and friends, whom he loved very much.

He served his country honorably in the Vietnam War and continued to be a proud American throughout his life. During his working years he was one of the best heavy equipment operators of his time and a truck driver. Billy loved to fish in his healthy years and watched fishing videos when he couldn’t get to the lake.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Visitation with be on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 3:00 - 5:00 PM, followed by the service at 5:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, TN. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army.
