Billy Joe Roderick, 89, passed away on July 12, 2024, in Seagoville, Tx.
Billy Joe was born on August 28, 1934 in Commerce, TX, to Joseph and Vera Roderick (Williams).
He was best known for his love of fishing and always had a great fishing story to share.
Billy Joe came to Dallas with his dad and got a job in the big Sears warehouse on Lamar street. He spent two years in the Army in 1957 to 1959. Upon returning he returned to Sears where he continued to work in the warehouse and eventually ended his career as a Sears truck driver for many years.
Billy is preceded in death by father Joseph Roderick, mother Vera Roderick, and son Joseph Glenn Roderick.
Billy is survived by three children, Mary Perkins of Forney, Tx., Gary Roderick of Allen, Tx. and Terry Roderick of Seagoville, Tx; sister, Avon Kirk of Rowlett, Tx.; and brother, Lowell Roderick of Allen, Tx; Four Grandchildren - Jennifer Gomez, Haley Shaw, Heather Perkins, and Ashley Roderick; Four Great-Grandchildren - Joseph Roderick, Jonathan Roderick, Sawyer Roderick, and Colt Shaw; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Billy Joe Roderick will be held Saturday July 20th at 4:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home-Stateroom A.
Burial will be held at Pecan Gap, Tx. cemetery at a later date.
