Billy Suddarth, 90, of Yates Center, Kansas, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas.
Born on March 12, 1935, Bill grew up in the Olathe, Kansas area and graduated from Gardner High School in 1954, where he was a standout athlete in football and a four-year state qualifier in track. On August 24, 1963, he married the love of his life, Linda, and together they built a life filled with love, faith, and family.
In 1973, Bill and Linda made Yates Center their home, where they lived for 50 years before relocating to Wichita in 2023 to be closer to family as Bill's health declined. Bill was a lifelong farmer who also worked in the oil fields, served on the janitorial staff at Yates Center Elementary School, and was a dedicated school bus driver. He was known for his strong work ethic, humble spirit, and steady presence in the community, where he also served as a 4-H Leader.
Above all, Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, all 6 siblings and grandson Anthony Banowetz.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Linda Suddarth of Wichita, Kansas; children Tammy (Scott) Mayfield, Janet (Joe) Hammond, and Kathy (Brian) Banowetz, all of Wichita; and Randy (Traci) Suddarth of Burlingame, Kansas. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Taylor (Kamie) Mayfield, Andrew Mayfield, Brianna (Michael) Fibelkorn, Christopher Banowetz, Niki (Jared) Loomis, Riley Suddarth, Chloe Suddarth, and Lilly Suddarth; and great-grandchildren Letty Fibelkorn and a baby boy Mayfield due soon.
Bill loved spending time with his family - whether playing cards around the table, cheering for the Chiefs and Royals, sharing old stories, or simply enjoying each other's company. He was known for his sense of humor, stubborn yet kind-hearted nature that made him beloved by all who knew him.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and hard work - a life well-lived and well-loved.
A visitation will be held at Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center, Kansas, on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., with funeral services to follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Yates Center Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Friends for Life – Yates Center Chapter or Turkey Creek United Methodist Church.

I am beyond blessed to have cared for Billy for the time I did, I always loved sitting in the room with him no matter how hot he kept that room lol while he talked highly of his big but growing family, Billy was an amazing family man and will definitely be missed by many!!
