She was born on November 10, 1935 in Clarksville, MO to Frances D. Elgin and Louis C. Elgin. Her parents and two brothers Wayne and Guy "Judge" Elgin preceded her in death.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Joseph Suddarth Sr.; her children, Joseph Suddarth Jr. (Beth) and Mary Lou Hausmann (Jerry); her grandchildren, Randi Schindler (Joe Alberts), Alissa Horton (Jamie), Noah Suddarth, and Hope Suddarth; and her four great-grandchildren, Bentley Walker, Hadleigh Horton, Makenna Schindler, and Harper Horton.
Dewanah was actively involved in Campers on Mission, Missouri Baptist Builders, and Windermere Baptist Camp, where she enjoyed serving others and sharing her time and talents.
Her favorite pastime and lifelong love was attending the Missouri State Fair, the people, the places, and lifelong friends that were made. She will be remembered for her faith, dedication, and love of family.
Graveside services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Clarksville Missouri at 1:00 p.m. on November 15, 2025. Memorials may be made to Pike County Home Care & Hospice. Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, MO is in charge of arrangements.
