Billy Joe Summerville, 87, of Temple, Georgia, passed away in Monday, May 29, 2023. He was born on March 13, 1936. He is the son of the late Preston Summerville and the late Eula Mae Jenkins.
Billy preached the name of Jesus Christ every chance he had. He especially loved the Book of Acts. Billy loved working with and helping people. He was also a landscaper and carpenter for many years. Billy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Summerville is preceded in death by his first wife, Flora Bell Summerville, grandchildren, Preston Lee Summerville and Richard Jason Agan; five brothers; and five sisters.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dolly Summerville; daughters, Diane Spray and her husband, Johnny of Temple, Georgia; Sheila Agan and her husband, Rickey of Temple, Georgia, Darlene Williams and her husband, Richard of Toccoa, Georgia; sons, Michael Summerville and his wife, Sharon of Temple, Georgia, Timmy Summerville of Temple, Georgia; sisters, Gladys Jackson of Douglasville, Georgia, Kathy Rowell and her husband, Gary of Tallapoosa, Georgia, Joanne Burnett and her husband, Clinton of Buchanan, Georgia; brothers, Jimmy Summerville and his wife, Vickie of Temple, Georgia, Wayne Summerville of Temple, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel, The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel with Rev. Jason Spray, Rev. David Simmons, and Rev. Tony McBride officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Jones-Wynn Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses for the family.

As Billy's neighbor for 8 years, I can't hardly belive he is gone, for he was very spiritually gifted and loved Jesus, and help me make a decision on my faith, since I had been to so many churches that never filled me spiritually

I have known Billy and his wife since I purchased a home next door to him 8 years ago, and had a hunger for a spirit filled church and so I was led by Billy and his wife Dolly to a great upstanding apostolic way of life and embraced it and flourish in the growth of knowing which way my future life is going, I enjoyed his company, humor, livelihood, and dedication to the word of God, every Sunday afternoon on the Train radio station with him and Dolly on board faithfully at 2 pm till he injured himself.
