Billy Mike Thomas, age 66, of Hobbs, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at The Waters of Tipton.
He was born in Noblesville on February 23, 1957, to the late Mark and Lora (Simmermon) Thomas.
Billy was a long-time resident of the Arcadia area and attended Hamilton Heights High School. He enjoyed the fact that he was a part of the undefeated football team in '72-'73 and loved to brag about it. Billy worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Hamilton County Highway Department, Asphalt Co., Calumet Asphalt Co., and then Beck's Hybrids for 13 years. In his free time, Billy enjoyed watching and attending NASCAR and Sprint Car races, as well as fishing.
Billy is survived by his Sister, Lou Ann Coner of BullHead City, AZ; Niece, Amy (Brian) Mayfield of War Road, MN; Niece, Brooke (Matt) Treadwell of MD; Nephew, Pete (Christina) Thomas of Noblesville, IN. Billy was preceded in death by his parents Mark & Lora Thomas, and Brother, Tim Thomas.
The family has entrusted Hartley Funeral Homes with Billy's cremation and a private burial will take place at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
