Franklin Scott Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jul. 20, 2025.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Franklin Dale Scott, "Pete," who departed this life on July 17, 2025. Born on June 27, 1937, in Arcadia, Indiana, Franklin was a charismatic soul who brought joy and laughter to everyone he encountered. His funny nature and loving personality made him a beacon of light in his family and community, and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Franklin was a thoughtful man who dedicated his life to his family, a value that was deeply ingrained in him and which he upheld until his last day. He was a proud veteran of the Army, stationed in Germany, and a dedicated member of the Cicero American Legion. Professionally, he found fulfillment in the automotive manufacturing industry, working for Chrysler until his retirement. His hobbies were as varied as they were numerous; he loved gardening and yard work, enjoyed watching Nascar and sports, and was skilled at playing Euchre. Franklin also had a passion for bird watching and crafting birdhouses.
Franklin leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. He is survived by his loving wife, Anne Scott, their children, Gregory Scott, Tonya (Eric) Hunter, Wesley (Dee) Breedlove, Timothy Breedlove, and Rebecca (Jeff) Pyke. He will also be fondly remembered by his brother Tom (Cathy) Scott, his sister Pat (Vince) Turner, his brother Ken (Judy) Scott, his grandchildren, Alisha Scott, Dylan Hunter, Shawn Scott, 3 great-grandchildren,10 step grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren, surrogate daughter Jamie (Guy) Petty, and several nieces and nephews. Franklin was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Catherine Scott, his siblings Daryl, Robert, Earlene, Janette, David, and Bruce Scott, his daughter Rhonda Young, and his stepdaughter Julie Stofa.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Guardian Angels Hospice and all of their dear family and friends for their love and support.
Visitation for Franklin will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 12:00pm at the Hartley-Dunnichay Funeral Home, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, Indiana, 46034. A memorial service will follow at 2:00pm at the same venue, and the graveside service will be held at 3:00pm at the Arcadia Brethren Cemetery, Arcadia, Indiana.
In remembering Franklin, we invite you to share your fondest memories and upload photos to his memorial page. With every story and picture shared, we keep his charismatic spirit alive and celebrate a life well-lived.
