Alberta Jane Parker, 96, of Arcadia, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville following an extended illness..
She was born on September 3, 1929, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Wallace Archie and Mary Margaret Ellen (Presser) Herron. She attended Howe High School.. She was a homemaker. She managed Marshall's Jewelry Store.
She attended Perkinsville Community Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved to listen to Jimmy Swaggart and loved to share her faith.
Alberta is survived by four sons, Mike (wife, Shari) Tapscott of Decatur, Illinois, Ken (wife, Chana) Tapscott of Athens, Alabama, Tom Parker of Arcadia and Chris Parker of Anderson; three daughters, Jane Vestal, of Arcadia, Judy Brown-Anderson of Fishers and Mary Hammond of Anderson; fifteen grandchildren and their families; twenty one great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and their families; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Margaret Herron; her husband, George A. Parker; a brother, Harry W. Herron and his wife, Venie; a sister, Anna Mae Hayden and her husbands, Paul and Jim; three sons-in-law; one daughter-in-law; and three grandchildren..
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Lapel Chapel, 110 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051 with Rev. Mike Tapscott officiating. Burial will follow at Perkinsville Cemetery in Anderson.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on on Saturday at the funeral home.
