Rose Eagan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by O'Riley - Branson Funeral Service & Crematory on Feb. 17, 2026.
Rose M. Eagan, a cherished matriarch, sister, and beloved friend, was born on January 16, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Antonio & Irma Minatel. Her remarkable journey through life ended on February 14, 2026, in Beech Grove, Indiana, leaving behind a legacy woven together with love, family, and cherished memories.

Rosie's early years were marked by an education at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School and Thomas Carr Howe High School, after which she began her career as an operator for Indiana Bell. However, her true calling became evident when she embraced the role of a devoted wife and stay-at-home mom, nurturing her children, Cathy and Michael, with a steadfast dedication that characterized her spirit.

Those who knew Rosie best, will fondly recall her quiet yet vibrant personality. Though she might have appeared shy in larger gatherings, within the warm confines of her family and close-knit circle of friends, she shone brilliantly. A talented seamstress, Rosie transformed fabric into love with every stitch. She expertly crafted everything from her children's clothing to sailboat covers and even took the time to teach some of her grandchildren the art of sewing. Each creation was a testament to her caring heart and creative spirit.

Holidays were a special time in the Eagan household, where laughter filled the air. Bob and Rosie's home served as a beloved meeting place for family celebrations. The Eagan family gathered around the ping pong table for holiday meals, stories, slide shows, and home movies.

Rosie's commitment to her family extended beyond the home. She was frequently involved in her children's and grandchildren's school activities, ensuring that her presence and support were felt in every triumph and challenge they faced. Her disciplined approach to life was a guiding force for her family, demonstrating the importance of being engaged and nurturing.

During the warm summer months, the Eagan family turned their hearts towards the water. They created lasting memories at Kentucky Lake, fishing, water skiing, and sailing. Their adventures at Lake Monroe in their RV, coupled with membership of the Lake Monroe Sailing Club, further reinforced the familial bonds that defined Rosie's life.

Rosie is survived by her loving children; Cathy (Mike) Kremer and Michael (Linda) Eagan, grandchildren; Angie (Eric) Huxley, Amy (Brent) Wilkerson, Vincent (Annie) Eagan, and Adrienne Eagan, great-grandchildren; Isabelle Rose Huxley, and Catherine Ann Eagan, brother; Joseph (Barbara) Minatel, and brother-in-law; Bernard Eagan.

Rosie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years; Robert E. Eagan, daughter; Barbara Rose Eagan, and brothers; Mario Minatel and Roy Minatel.

Rosie was also a faithful member of Holy Name Catholic Church for over 70 years, reflecting her deep connection to her faith and community. Her involvement with the Holy Name Woman's Altar Society for many years showcased her dedication to service and devotion to others.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Holy Name Catholic Church from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Holy Name Catholic Church at 11:00am with one hour of visitation in the church prior to Mass. Burial will take place a Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis.

The family has immense gratitude to Mario's Angels: Jacque McNulty, Charlene Witka and Linda Snider, for many years of companionship, prayer, and love they bestowed upon Rosie as a witness of Christ on this earth. The family would also like to extend sincere thanks to all of the caregivers at Envive (formally St. Paul Hermitage) who provided genuine, loving care to Rosie.

Please visit www.orileybranson.com to leave a memory of Rosie or to sign the online guest book. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations to Holy Name Catholic Church Capital Campaign or The Fallen Firefighter Memorial in care of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Professional Firefighters Union, Local 416.
