Billy D. "Bill" VanPelt

BILLY (BILL) D. VANPELT, 83, of North Little Rock, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025. He was born on July 7, 1942, in Enola, AR, to the late Montine Roland and James VanPelt. In 1948, he gained a bonus father, Hulen Roland, who lovingly embraced him and raised him as his own.

Bill grew up in North Little Rock, AR. At the age of 16, he enlisted in the USMC and served in California. Following his military service, he dedicated himself to over 45 years in the automobile industry. He took great pride in being a Mason, a member of the Masonic JACINTO Lodge, No. 216 in Jacksonville, AR, a Shriner, and a member of the Shriners Hospital Motorcycle Club, known as the Scimitar Riders.

Bill had a passion for golfing, water, and hunting. In his younger days, he could often be found at the lake or in the hunting woods. He will be fondly remembered for his enthusiasm for watching the Razorbacks play football and his charismatic personality.

He is survived by his children: Kevin VanPelt of Springfield, Arkansas; Keith (Beth) VanPelt of Sheridan, Wyoming; Michelle Pullman of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Crystal Phillips of Bryant, Arkansas; Angela Vance of Jacksonville, Arkansas; Cindy Grant of Mayflower, Arkansas; Da'Karion VanPelt of Little Rock, Arkansas; and stepson Chuck (Cindy) Martin of Little Rock, Arkansas, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at A Natural State Funeral Service, (501) 982-3400. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, c/o Scimitar Shrine, or to a charity of your choice in memory of Bill VanPelt.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his caregiver, Kenyatta Price, the many wonderful doctors and nurses associated with the VA system and the wonderful staff at Rotech.
