Billy Dale Williams was born August 15, 1946, in Coleman, Texas. He left this world to meet his Savior on January 23, 2024, in Shreveport, Louisiana, at the age of 77. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 27, at 10:00 AM in the Rodney Duron Chapel at Shreveport Community Church, 5720 Buncombe Road.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lon and Lucille Williams, and his brother Charles "Bubba" Williams and wife Margie.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, his son Justin and wife Chelsie, his daughter Stacy, his grandchildren Griffin, Lucy, Kaj, and Jack, his nephew Mike Williams and wife Evelyn and their children and grandchildren, his brother-in-law Danny Stevens and wife Beverly, nephews Shane, Clay, and Cole Stevens, and their wives and children.
Billy gave his heart to Christ and was baptized at an early age and was a long-time member of Ridgemont Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas. Upon moving to Shreveport in 2005, he and Nancy joined Justin at Shreveport Community Church.
Billy was a welder and CNC machinist by trade, but was best known for his gentle and quiet demeanor, his creative craftsmanship, his service to Christian ministries, and his daily front-row seat at the morning prayer meeting called The Gate.
He will be sorely missed, but the family is comforted to know that he has gone to be with Jesus, and that we will see him again.
