Beloved lyricist of Bangladesh Betar, Bivash Kanti Dey, is no more.
On Sunday, October 6, he passed away at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas, after bravely battling the effects of a brain hemorrhage. He was 73 years old. Despite receiving the best medical care and spending three days on life support, he peacefully left this world, surrounded by love and prayers.
Bivash Kanti Dey was not just a talented lyricist, but a former chemist at the TSP Fertilizer Factory. His life was one of quiet dedication, creativity, and service.
He leaves behind his wife, Professor Tribeni Roy, two loving daughters, and countless admirers. His elder daughter is currently pursuing a master’s in techno-anthropology at Aalborg University in Denmark, while his younger daughter has recently graduated with a degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Kansas and is now working at a private aircraft manufacturing company in the U.S.
Bivash Kanti Dey will be deeply missed, not only by his family but by all those whose lives he touched through his words, his music, and his gentle spirit.
