Mr. Blake Peaden Hudson, at the age of 27, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Blake was surrounded by his family as he went home to be with his Lord and Savior.
The family will receive friends in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, November 19, 2023, from 11:30AM-12:30PM followed immediately by a graveside service at Pinewood Memorial Park at 1:00PM. The service will be led by John Sinkhorn of Maranatha Church, Jake Manning of Unity FWB, and Beatty Bass of GCF Church. All are welcome to attend Blake's celebration of life service.
Blake, son of Melinda P. Hudson and Troy M. Hudson, was born on November 27, 1995, in Pitt County. A native of Greenville, North Carolina, Blake attended Grace Church and Unity Free Will Baptist Church where he was involved in youth group. He graduated from South Central High School. After graduation, Blake attended East Carolina University while also pursuing opportunities in IT and digital consultation. Blake was a master behind a keyboard and did well for himself through freelance in that field. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, making music, participating in open mic comedy, and doing whatever he could to put a smile on your face.
Anyone that knew Blake Hudson would certainly agree that he was one of a kind. A charismatic and free spirit Blake would light up any room that he walked into. Blake was extremely intelligent and was capable of so many different things, but the thing he did the best was make you smile. Whether from the stage at open mic comedy nights in downtown Greenville, his hilarious YouTube videos, or on the couch with his best friends, Blake was always the life of the party and center of attention. Blake loved big, lived big, and certainly smiled big, and that is what his family and friends will miss most about him. Blake did not want to disappoint you and if you were fortunate enough to cross paths with him there is no doubt that he made an impression. He left this Earth way too soon, but he certainly made his presence known walking through the pearly gates of Heaven.
Blake is predeceased by his grandmother, Jean P. Hudson, and is survived by his mother, Melinda P. Hudson of Greenville, and her husband Samuel M. Pierson as well as his father, Troy M. Hudson, of North Myrtle Beach. He will also be missed by his sister, Brooke Hudson Taunton of Greenville, her husband Jameson and son Camden, grandparents Stanley and Peggy Peaden of Greenville, grandfather James Hudson of Greenville, uncle and aunt Carr and Sheryl Wainwright of Wilson, cousin Carra Wainwright Webb of Wilson, her husband Thomas and daughter Anna Kate, and stepbrothers Samuel and Corey Pierson of Greenville.
In lieu of flowers or memorial contributions, the family believes Blake would rather you contribute to the benefit of venues in Greenville to promote the growth of the local comedy and music scenes. Donations can be made to Blake's Aunt, Sheryl Wainwright, at 507 Clyde Ave NW, Wilson, NC to be presented in the coming weeks.
