Blake Rafferty McGehee, 39, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2024, at his home in Tampa, Florida.
Blake was born on January 10, 1985, in Raleigh, North Carolina. A graduate of Sanderson High School, Blake earned his BS in business administration, finance and banking and financial planning from Appalachian State University.
Blake was proud of earning the highly respected Certified Financial Planner certification and was employed by Fisher Investments for the past six years in Camas, Washington, and more recently in Tampa.
Blake loved his family and was fiercely loyal to treasured relationships. He was known for his keen sense of humor, quick wit, caring attitude, and love of animals.
Blake is survived by his mother, Kathy Rafferty McGehee of Atlantic Beach; father, David A. McGehee of Morehead City; half-sister, Meredith McGehee of Newport; niece and nephew, Hannah McGehee and Skylar Nolan of Beaufort; and his beloved canine companion, Bear.
A celebration of Blake’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through their obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601, or to the Carteret County Humane Society, 853 Hibbs Rd., Newport, NC 28570.
