Blake Mullins Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Martin & Hightower Funeral Home - Carrollton on Mar. 26, 2026.
Rev. Blake Thomas Mullins, age 94, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on March 24, 2026. Born on October 27, 1931, in Greenough, Pike County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Dewey Jackson Mullins and Dulcie Phipps Mullins.

Blake lived a long and faithful life, defined by his steady devotion to the Lord, his family, and the people he was called to serve. Blake came to Christ in his late 20s and soon afterward answered the call to ministry. That calling would shape the course of his life for the next five decades. Serving churches in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Maryland, Virginia, and South Carolina as a minister of the Gospel, he spent his years sharing the message of Christ in both word and example, offering guidance, encouragement, and quiet strength to those who needed it most. His faith was not only something he preached, but something he lived out daily.

In his retirement years, he was a cherished member of Roopville Road Baptist Church, where he found great joy in worship, fellowship, and continuing to serve alongside his church family. Blake was known for his kind spirit, his thoughtful prayers, and his ability to make others feel seen and cared for. His presence brought comfort, and his words often came at just the right time.

In addition to his ministry, Blake honorably served his country in the United States Army in Germany, serving with the Constabulary Forces in the U.S. sector during the Allied occupation after World War II. His time in the service reflected the same sense of duty and humility that he carried throughout his life.

More than anything, Blake loved his family. He was a devoted husband to his late wife, Janice Marie Frazier Mullins, and a steady, guiding presence in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and generations that followed. He took great pride in his family and treasured the time spent together, whether in conversation, laughter, or simply being present.

He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Marlin) Miller and Sandy Pollard, both of Carrollton, Georgia, and Patty (George) Milgrim of Kauai, Hawaii; his son, Jon (Rebecca) Mullins of Panama City Beach, Florida. Twelve grandchildren also survive: Jeremy Bostwick (Irish), Joel (Katie) Pollard, Chris (Ashley) Pollard, Shelby Miller, all of Carrollton, Georgia; Katie Crane of Cartersville, Georgia; Jill Ralston of Temple, Georgia; Anne-Marie Miller of Los Angeles, California; Samuel Blake Mullins of Panama City Beach, Florida; Aaron Milgrim of Evington, Virginia; Drew Milgrim of Gardner, Massachusetts; Nat (Amanda) Milgrim of Greencastle, Pennsylvania; and Priscilla (AJ) Gettler of Lihue, Hawaii. Blake is also survived by twenty great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews, other extended family members, and friends. He is also survived by his siblings, Patsy (Paul) McAfoos of Damascus, Virginia, and Jerry (Jeanne) Mullins of Hendersonville, North Carolina.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janice Mullins; his sisters, Buena Hilton, Virginia Mullins, Corrine Wessinger, and Bethel Steele; and his brother, Cecil Mullins.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Roopville Road Baptist Church, a place that meant so much to him. He will be laid to rest in the church cemetery following the service. Jeremy Bostwick, Liam Bostwick, Blake Mullins, Jon Mullins, Chris Pollard, and Jacob Ralston will serve as pallbearers.

Rev. Mullins lived his life with quiet faithfulness, humility, and love. The legacy he leaves is not only in the sermons he preached but in the lives he touched, the family he cherished, and the example he set each day.

In honor of Blake's life and his years of faithful service, memorial donations may be made to Mission: Dignity, a ministry of the Southern Baptist Convention that supports retired pastors and their families, or to the Wounded Warrior Project, which aids injured veterans. Donations may be made online or mailed to the organization of your choice.
