Blake Lewis Sweeten

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Blake Sweeten, who left us unexpectedly on 10/28/2025, at the young age of 20 years old due to a tragic vehicle accident.

Blake was born in San Antonio, Texas, on March 24, 2005, to his parents Clifton and Samantha Sweeten. He grew up in Carrizo Springs where he graduated high school while also obtaining his Associates of Arts from Southwest Texas College in May of 2023. Blake graduated from Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, in May of 2025, with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. He was actively pursuing his dream and was in the final stage of joining the United States Border Patrol, following in the footsteps of his grandfather and father. Blake lit up every room with his smile and his free-spirited character. Blake was known for his love of playing basketball, playing video games and being around his friends. He will be remembered for his big heart and his passion for helping others.

Blake is survived by his parents Clifton and Samantha Sweeten, his sister Brylee Sweeten, his grandparents Ricky and Camey Masar and Randall and Debra Sweeten, his aunts Sara Sweeten, Taylor Masar Scott and husband Jason Scott, cousins Bowen and JC Scott. As well as the many others that will forever cherish his memory.

Serving as pallbearers are Kolton Brady, Evan Castellanos, Paxton Clanahan, Christian Diaz, Jarret Gest, Joaquin Lira, Edward Moreno and Ethan Navarro.

Honorary pallbearers are Javon Balderas, Felix Guevara, Elvis Mata, DeAndrew Nanez, Jaime Puente and CJ Zuvia.

Funeral arrangements:

Viewing will be held at Leonard Funeral Home, 707 W Houston St, Carrizo Springs, TX 78834 on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 5-9 pm.

Service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 11 am at the First Baptist Church Carrizo Springs.
