Blanca Valdivia Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Reade & Sons Funeral Home - Kerman on Dec. 18, 2025.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Blanca Estela Valdivia at the age of 82. Blanca was born in McAllen,Texas in 1943, she was raised and spent her school days in Hidalgo,Texas. During the 1950s she traveled and worked in the agricultural fields of Texas, parts of the South and Midwest alongside her parents and her 5 siblings. It was during those travels she met the man who later would become her lifelong love, Gregorio.
They were united in the bonds of holy matrimony in St. Anne Catholic Church, New Castle,Indiana. Later in 1965, with a toddler and a newborn, they drove with Blanca's uncle Erasmo from "El Valle de Texas" where they left their modest home and everything in it to make their dreams come true in the Agricultural Capital of the World, the Central Valley of California. Eventually, they put down roots in Fresno County.
Over the course of the next 30 years Blanca and her husband raised a family and made many friends "Comadres and Compadres". Blanca worked as a farmworker and a full time mother. She relied on her tremendous faith in God and love for her family as the foundation of her strength. She instilled her faith in God with her family. She filled her children with love and that love overflowed to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She stressed to all of them the importance of education and hard work to make a life for themselves. She split her retirement years between "El Valle de Texas" and the Central Valley. She loved spending time with her family making new memories and talking about old times.
On December 12,2025 just after 5PM, on the day that honors the Blessed Mother Mary, the hazy fog of the Central Valley skies opened up and the Sun beamed through her window. The warm rays blessed her face as her spirit received the message from above, her work here was done and she was called home by her Holy Father, "My Jesus". She was surrounded by her loving family who mourned her loss and prayed for her.
We will miss her smiling eyes, joyous laugh, her warm hugs, soft kisses and the "consejos" she gave us. Especially all the delicious food she cooked with love. We thank her for all of the blessings and prayers bestowed upon us "las oraciones que nos rezaba". Her strong faith in God and love of life will be carried on by all of those whom she impacted.
Blanca is survived by her husband of 63 years Gregorio,Sr and their children, Angie (husband Daniel), Adam, Teresa (husband Enrique), René (wife Sylvia). Along with 20 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her her parents Paulino and Grabiela, her brother Rogelio, her sister Dalia, her son Greg,Jr his wife Alicia, grandchild Cassie and great grandchild Terrance. May their souls be united in fellowship in the Kingdom of Heaven.
