Blanch Albritton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ronald Taylor II Funeral Home - Washington D.C. on Jun. 26, 2025.
Blanch V. Albritton, born on December 15, 1938, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, was a beacon of charismatic energy and a source of laughter to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Blanch, also known as Owens, was a woman of ambition, with a sense of humor that could brighten any room. She was loyal to her friends and family, always prioritizing their happiness above all else. As Maya Angelou once said, "My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style." Blanch lived by this quote, thriving in her personal and professional life with a unique blend of passion, compassion, humor, and style.
Blanch was a successful entrepreneur, owning a hair salon and barbershop after obtaining her cosmetology license. Her ambition and dedication to her work were unparalleled. In her personal life, Blanch was keen on shopping, participating in choir, taking care of her personal well-being, traveling, and most importantly, spending time with her friends and family. She was also an active member of several social clubs, demonstrating her charismatic charm and magnetic personality. Blanch's dedication to her family, friends, and work were a testament to her ambitious nature and loyal heart.
Blanch is survived by her children, Glenis (Freeman) Brown, Cardell (Adrienne) Albritton, Cassandra Albritton, Nikita Albritton, eight grandchildren, eighteen great grand children, and one great great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, Russel and Helen Owens, her son Clarence Jr., her sisters Evelyn Ward, Addie Cooper, and May Francis "Itsy"Harper, and her brother, Russel Jr. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 10:00am EDT at St. Judah Spiritual Baptist Church, 43 Anacostia Road, NE, Washington, District of Columbia, 20019. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00am EDT at the same location.
Blanch Albritton's life was a testament to her charismatic, funny, ambitious, and loyal nature. Her memory will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew her. We invite you to share your memories and upload photos to Blanch's memorial page, as a tribute to a life well-lived.
