In Loving Memory: Bonnie Fishbine (October 12, 1921 – July 2, 2024)
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Bonnie Fishbine on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. She departed peacefully at the Los Alamos Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born on October 12, 1921, Bonnie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harold Fishbine. She leaves behind a loving family, including her sons, Brian and Glenn Fishbine, Glenn’s wife Kathy, her granddaughter Jenna Fishbine, and her two great-grandchildren, Margo and Aiden.
Bonnie and Harold tied the knot in Santa Fe in 1946. After a short period in Florida, they returned to Los Alamos, where they resided in the same house since 1949. Over the years, they traveled extensively, with Bonnie’s favorite destination being the beautiful islands of Hawaii.
Bonnie had a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and culture of New Mexico. She spent countless hours gardening and engaging with her family and neighbors. An avid reader, Bonnie’s collection boasted hundreds of books. She had a special fondness for the music of the big bands, which played a significant role in bringing her and Harold together.
Bonnie was always there for others, showing thoughtfulness and concern for their wellbeing. Her kindness and generosity will be deeply missed.
