Blanche M Jones

Blanche M Jones (née Greten), 84 of Manahawkin, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 26th at home surrounded by her family. Blanche was born in Hoboken, NJ to the late Virginia Greten (nee Moschello) and James Greten. She was raised in Hoboken, NJ and later moved to Union City, NJ where she resided for over 40 years. She had a long career working for the Union City Board of Education from which she retired. She was active in Union City politics, serving as a committee woman for many years. While living in Union City she looked forward to spending her summers down the shore at her beach house in Beach Haven West. Once she retired she finally moved to Manahawkin where she currently resided. She was a parishioner of St Mary's Church, Barnegat and Manahawkin. She enjoyed going to estate sales, reading novels and watching her favorite tv shows NCIS and Blue Bloods. Her favorite thing to do was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchild. She is predeceased by, her loving husband of 57 years, Robert A Jones in 2021, and her daughters, Judy Jones in 2016 and Linda Woltmann in 2020. Surviving are her sons, Anthony Jones & wife Mimi and Robert A Jones Jr & wife Kim and 8 grandchildren, John, Jason, Robert III, Alyssa, Jillian, Anthony Jr, Matthew & Christian and 1 great granddaughter Olivia. Visitation is Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is 12:30 PM on Tuesday at St Mary's Church, Barnegat with entombment to follow at St Mary Cemetery, Manahawkin.
