Blane M. Powell, age 23, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023 in Valdosta, GA. Blane was born in Dixon on August 20, 1999 and is the son of Jill Shuman and Brandonn Powell. Blane loved playing soccer and played all four years for Oregon High School before graduating in 2017. After graduation; Blane chose to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force and was currently stationed at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, GA. In his spare time; he could be found online gaming or watching sports on tv. He also enjoyed going to watch dirt track car races. He is survived and missed by his mother, Jill (Neil) Shaw of Oregon; father, Brandonn Powell of Rock Falls; grandparents, Jim and Diane Shuman of Oregon, Amy Powell and Irene Fordham of Sublette; great grandparents, Glenn and Pat Stroh of Oregon; brothers, Ben Powell of Oregon and Brady Powell of Holloman Air Force Base in NM; step siblings, Dylan (Karrie) Shaw of Earlville, Colton Shaw of Fort Campbell in KY, Ethan Shaw of Amboy, Evan Shaw of Spring Valley, Gabe Shaw of Amboy, and Chrissy Shaw of Spring Valley; aunts, Kristi Shuman, Nicole Carreno, and Mikki Jo Perrine; and many cousins.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 12:00 on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home in Oregon. A private burial will be held at a later time.
