Blas T. Martinez

Blas T. Martinez, age 83, passed away on June 3, 2025. Blas was born on July 7, 1941, to Blas B. Martinez and Rebecca T. Martinez. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Lincoln Heights, California in 1959. In 1960, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Blas was employed by the International Longshoreman's Association for 40 years. He was a member of the American Legion and served in the Color Guard. Blas enjoyed jazz and blues music. He will always be remembered for his love of laughter, great sense of humor, and the love he has for his pets. Blas was a loving father, husband, brother, uncle, and grandfather.

Blas is preceded in death by his parents Blas and Rebecca Martinez.
Blas T. Martinez is survived by his wife Odilia V. Martinez, children Michael A. Martinez (Sara) and Michelle D. Castellanos (Frank), bonus children Yvette V. Ayala (Enrique) and Gene Velasquez, grandchildren Emilio Castellanos and Haley (Sam) Warren, four bonus granddaughters, three bonus grandsons, two great grandchildren, sisters Patsy (Andrew) Lazo and Irma Martinez, niece Amanda, nephews Jimmy and Thomas, two great nieces, and one great nephew.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Michael Martinez, Emilio Castellanos, Jimmy Lazo, Joseph Lazo, Jesse Valdez, and Gene Velasquez.
