It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Blondell Langston Johnson, who departed this life on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025, at the age of 85. Blondell was born on Saturday, May 11th, 1940, in Florence County, South Carolina, a birthplace that she cherished throughout her life.
Blondell was an incredibly skilled seamstress and a dedicated pastor's wife who supported her late husband, Rev. Fred Manley Johnson, throughout their 56 years of marriage. Their union was a testament to love and devotion, and she continued to embody those values even after his passing.
Blondell leaves behind a large and loving family who will cherish her memory forever. She is survived by her two sons, Danny Ray (Felecia) Johnson and Billy Joe (Brandi) Johnson, both residing in Timmonsville; her two daughters, Cathy (Clinton) Stroman and Bonnie (Jay) Franklin, also of Timmonsville. Her legacy continues through her ten grandchildren: Candice Danielle (Jim) Johnson Love, Casey Elise Johnson Morris, Serenity Elise Johnson, Christopher Andrew (Amber) Stroman, Meagan (Michael) Accampo, Stacey (Michael) Stanley, Justin (Victoria) Franklin, Caleb Manley Johnson, Jaime Johnson, and Bailee Johnson. Additionally, she was the proud great-grandmother of twenty-five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Blondell is also survived by her beloved sisters, Mildred Ackerman and Jeanette Wilkes, both of Scranton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Fred Manley Johnson; her parents, Milber and Bannie Langston; her brother, Charles Langston; and her sisters, Joyce Ann Martin, Bobbie Jean Roidl, and Loretta Coker.
Blondell's life will be celebrated on Saturday, September 6th, 2025, with a visitation held at Floyd Funeral Home in Olanta, South Carolina, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm. Pallbearers include Justin Franklin, Jacob Stanley, Jim Love, Marion Welch, Christopher Stroman, and Michael Stanley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Olanta Church of God of Prophecy, P.O. Box 569, Olanta, SC 29114, to honor Blondell's steadfast faith and commitment to her community.
