SHELBY - It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Hoey "Bo" William Marshall, Jr., who departed this world on October 17, 2025, at the age of 77. Born in Shelby, North Carolina, on September 8, 1948, to the late Hoey William Marshall, Sr. and Beatrice Carpenter Marshall.
Bo was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep appreciation for old western movies, where tales of courage and adventure mirrored his own steadfast spirit. Music was another passion that resonated within him, a soothing balm that accompanied his journey through life's ups and downs.
Nature was Bo's sanctuary, a place where he found peace and reflection. He spent countless hours observing the gentle grace of deer, marveling at their serene presence. This connection to nature reflected his gentle soul and his ability to find beauty in the world around him.
Bo's faith was an integral part of his life. He and his beloved late wife, Cathy Marshall, were longtime members of Calvary Baptist Church, where they found a community that shared their values and beliefs, supporting each other through the seasons of life.
Bo is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Marshall, who will carry forward the memory of his gentle spirit and the lessons he imparted through his quiet strength and unwavering kindness.
The Marshall family is hosting a fundraiser to provide support during this difficult time following the loss of their beloved dad, Bo Marshall.
