Robert E. Burford, Jr., 73, passed away Monday, March 17, 2025. He was born in Alabama on September 24, 1951, to the late Robert Eugene Burford, Sr. and Kay Batson Burford. Along with his parents, he was preceded by his grandmother, Annie Lee Batson. Surviving is his loving wife of 48 years, Terri Burford; daughter, Ashley Cosby of Clemmons, NC; granddaughter, Brooke Cosby; son, Dr. Brett Burford of Augusta, GA; son Robert E. Burford, III (Tricia) of Jacksonville and grandkids Dillon and Kayla. Bob was a devoted husband, loving father and proud Papa who loved creating works of art out of stained glass, traveling to historic US locations, doing puzzles and winning nightly versions of Jeopardy from his living room. He proudly owned and operated Auto Tech of Athens for 25 years where he had many loyal customers who became more like family. As a diehard Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs fan, he was loved by many and will be remembered as a man of endless knowledge and experience who would do anything for his family or friends. A private service will be held for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel is serving the family of Mr. Burford.
