Robert "Bob" Wendal Clerico

Robert "Bob" Wendal Clerico, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and respected member of the Bakersfield community, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, in
Bakersfield, California, at the age of 88.
Born on July 18, 1937, in Bakersfield, Bob was the cherished son of Basilo and Geneive Clerico. He grew up surrounded by a loving family and is survived by his sisters Joanne Alderson and Leona Reedy. He was preceded in death by his siblings Lawrence, Clarence "Bud," and Leota.
Bob attended East Bakersfield High School, where he proudly graduated as part of the school's very first graduating class in 1955. He went on to earn degrees from Bakersfield College and Fresno State University, paving the way for a remarkable career in real estate.
Over the course of more than 45 years, Bob built a reputation as a trusted and respected real estate broker. He served as President of the Bakersfield Board of Realtors in 1985, was honored as Realtor of the Year in 1986, and held leadership roles in the local Kiwanis Club. Beyond real estate, Bob shared his passion for antiques by co-owning and operating Memory Lane Antiques with his wife Karen for 19 years, creating a warm and welcoming space forcollectors and neighbors alike.
Bob's interests were as rich as his character-he loved basketball and track, pursued photography, and had a deep appreciation for antiques and collectibles. He adored his dogs, Sugar and Spice, who were constant companions and brought him great joy. A man of faith, Bob was a member of Valley Baptist Church, where he found community and purpose. Bob leaves behind his devoted wife of many years, Karen Clerico; sons Kevin Clerico and Erin Clerico; daughter Melinda Clerico; stepchildren Jeff Willis and Keri Willis; numerous grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter Julie Clerico.
Visitation and graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home Northeast, 3700 River Boulevard, on September 15,2025 at 11:00am.
Bob's warmth, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones and community will be deeply missed. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched.
