I worked for uncle Bob when he farmed back in the 1960's. He would take me out to a field and I would climb aboard his Farmall 706 and pull a shredder with a tandem disc behind it at the young age of 12 or so. His trust in me certainly helped shape me into the man I became and gave me an abundance of confidence in myself. He would come pick me up around noon and we would go to the Guest Cafe for lunch on what is now Texan Trail in Grapevine. I don't think uncle Bob ever met a stranger and I never remember a time when uncle Bob wasn't in good spirits, with a smile on his face, and a funny story to tell. I will miss you uncle Bob and I will never forget you. Ben Flanagan

Bobby could make the best Christmas candy, raise the best green onions.... its a small world when Bobby knew my relatives in west Texas, Just by visiting with him at Yates Corner Grocery. My sincere condolences to Bobbys' family...

Describing a time when Uncle Bobby made me laugh was nearly every encounter :) Having moved to the coast, the last time I saw him was on a trip into Grapevine I took at Waffle Way. I pulled up a chair and we shared stories over breakfast and I laughed more by 9am than most people get to in a day. I cherish the memory, and mourn the loss of Uncle Bobby. One of the funniest and most genuine people I have ever known.
