Bobbie Ted "Bob" Gallagher went home to His Lord on December 26, 2025. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30th at Bailey-Howard Funeral Home in
Clyde, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 31st at the Texas State Veteran's Cemetery in Abilene. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31st at First Baptist Church in Clyde.
Bob was born to L.C. "Ted" Gallagher and Montie Davis Gallagher on October 29, 1933, in
Jayton, TX. He was raised on his family farm in Girard, Texas, where he worked with the family and began working at the Cotton Gin around age 16. He was the salutatorian of the graduating class of Girard High School in 1951. He attended what was then Southwest Texas College in San Marcos, Texas, before joining the United States Air Force. He served his country proudly for four years.
After the Air Force, he returned to Kent County where he worked at the O-Bar-O Ranch.
In May,1958, Bob met the love of his life, Willie Louise Williams. Soon after, he went to Highway Patrol School. He and Willie couldn't wait until graduation to get married, so they married on Christmas Day, 1958, in Little Hope, Texas. Bob served as a Highway Patrolman for the Department of Public Safety for five years. During that time, Elaine and Anna were born.
After his service, the family moved to Girard, Texas, where Bob farmed and Teresa was born.
For the next 10 years, Bob served as Sheriff of Kent County and was later elected to be the Kent County Judge.
In 1972, Bob got the opportunity to work for West Central Texas Council of Governments, and the family moved to Clyde where Carolyn was born. During that time, Bob was the Executive Director of The Council of Governments.
After retiring from the COG, Bob worked with his best friend, Ken Rogers, at Bar K Quarter Horses. After some time, Bob worked as a Loan Officer for the People's State Bank in Clyde until his retirement.
Before and after retirement, Bob was involved in his community and church, including Sunday School Teacher and Deacon at First Baptist Church of Clyde, Lions Club, and Rotary Club member and member of the Gideons of Abilene plus an emcee at many civic and church events.
During his life, Bob treasured his family and his faith above all things, and he also loved spending his time as a cowboy. He raised, trained, and showed Cutting Horses with Ken Rogers. Bob and his horse Chigger were even World Champions in 1993.
Bob is remembered as a loving man who liked to have fun, including pulling pranks and jokes on his family. Bob had a witty sense of humor until his last days.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Ted and Montie, sister Betty Sue, brother Tommy Gallagher, brother-in-law Bill Lunsford, sister-in-law Lillian Gallagher, son-in-law Anthony Pedrazine, and his family friends, Kenneth and Lawanda Rogers.
He is survived by Willie, wife of 67 years, his daughters Elaine Gallagher Edwards and husband Randy, Anna Gallagher, Teresa Gallagher Esman and Carolyn Gallagher Pedrazine; his grandchildren, Danella Edwards Palmer (Chris), Megan Young, D'nae Edwards Rutland (Matt), Derek Edwards (Tiffany), Colton Esman (Samantha) and Cassidi Esman Carr (Kyle), his nine great-grandchildren, and family friends, Ann Rogers Smith (Jason) and family, and Brad and Brent Brazell and Brittany Brazell Adair and families. Bob is also survived by his sister Joann Gallagher Lunsford, brother Geral Gallagher, sister-in-law, Sandra Gallagher, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob's Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
