Bob Hizey Obituary

BOB N. HIZEY Bob N. Hizey, 89, of Augusta, KS, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025, in Wichita, KS. Visitation 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Service 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Augusta United Methodist Church, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta. Bob was born in Galesburg, KS, on November 16, 1935, to the late Eunice (Weirich) and Roy  Hizey. He owned Hizey Service and Supply for 42 years. Bob was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, gardening, raising cattle, boating, and especially loved mowing. He was a longtime member of Augusta United Methodist Church. On June 5, 1955, he married Virginia (Newton) Hizey. She preceded him in death on August 29, 2010. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Don, Tom, and Rick Hizey; sisters in law, Shirley Hizey and Jane Washburn; brothers-in-law, Kelly Newberry and Roger Batson; and companion, Darlene Ward. He is survived by: daughters, Debbie Turpin and husband Dave of Augusta, KS, and Diane Kiser and husband Mike of Augusta, KS; grandchildren, Brian (Natalie), Kenny (Nicole), and Kevin (Julie) Turpin, Angie (Sam) Koehn, Mitch (Ali) Kiser, and Jill (Tom) Bybee; great grandchildren, Annie, Chloe, Dalton, Holly, Addy, Briggs, Ragen, and Cal Turpin, Maren and Edy Kiser, Emmitt and Elise Koehn, and Lilly, Madi, and Sadie Bybee; brother, Ted Hizey and wife Sandra of Galesburg, KS; sister, Judy Newberry of Galesburg, KS; brothers in law, Bill Newton (Carolyn) and Frank Washburn; sisters in law, Mary Hizey, Chris Hizey, Carolyn (Mike) Newmaster, and Margie Batson; many nieces, nephews, and friends.  Memorial donations may be made to Augusta United Methodist Church, 2420 N. Ohio, Augusta, KS 67010.
